Kurt Pope
Psychotherapist MA, LPCC

Kurt maintains a compassionate setting for individuals to explore, understand, and create meaning for themselves in a collaborative and fruitful fashion. Engaging with unknown aspects of our selves allows for growth to take place in an encouraging environment.
Clients and Kurt utilize expressive therapeutic techniques such as art, metaphor, and dream work to move from intellectual analysis to a richer, more direct experience. Our society and culture puts great demand on our attention, senses, and left-brain functioning leaving little space for inner reflection and engagement with our creative, emotional selves. The work that Kurt does gives attention to all aspects of inner experience to achieve balance and fulfillment internally and externally.
Kurt specializes in shadow work from a Jungian and Internal Family Systems lens, dream work, and the creative process. He has been in practice for more than 9 years. With a diverse professional background, he has worked with individuals on a wide spectrum of human experience and consciousness. Diagnostically, Kurt gives focus to those experiencing depression, anxiety, and past trauma.

Kurt has worked in private practice, large multi-specialty behavioral health clinic, and community-based care settings. A wide range of populations have been supported throughout his career, ranging from adult rehabilitation with those experiencing severe pathology to depth psychotherapy with those looking for expansive insight and growth. Kurt received a Master of Arts degree in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy. He has additional training and education in Western philosophy, Jungian psychology, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. While receiving his education, Kurt worked in an academic research setting studying Jungian dreamwork/individuation and the Descriptive Experience Sampling (DES) method to better understand subjective inner experience. In addition to clinical work, Kurt has lectured on multiple topics, including Jungian psychology (Kaivalya Kollectiv FIVE training program) and the healing power of psychedelics (Chiron: Center for Integral-Relational Studies).

Kurt is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with the MN Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy as well as a board-certified clinical supervisor.
